Achieved 7 Million Sales in 58 Seconds
Project Background
In recent years, similar competing products have emerged in the market, and increased competition has put pressure on 7-Eleven’s cart noodle sales. In order to re-engage customers and increase sales, 7-Eleven plans to launch a new cart noodle product to improve brand competitiveness and bring a more diverse experience to customers.
Customer Needs
7-Eleven wanted to develop a noodle product that could be cooked in less than 60 seconds to ensure that customers could enjoy delicious noodles quickly even during peak hours, thus realizing an overall improvement in service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
How We Solved
To overcome this challenge, our team decided to split a 100-gram noodle cake into two 50-gram smaller cakes. This innovative design significantly reduced the thickness of the noodle cakes, thereby shortening the cooking time and successfully keeping it within 60 seconds. This solution not only met the demand for quick service but also maintained the noodles’ texture and taste.
Challenge We Met
Through numerous experiments, our team found that keeping the cooking time within 60 seconds was a significant challenge. Traditional noodle cakes were too thick, making it difficult to reduce cooking time effectively.
Continual Improvement
To ensure the noodles maintain their excellent quality during delivery, we worked closely with the client team to brainstorm new ideas. By adding egg and alkaline water to the noodle recipe, we ensured that the noodles would retain their perfect texture and taste even after longer delivery times.
Market Response
Upon its launch, the new noodle achieved tremendous success in the market. In just 30 days, sales reached 600,000 to 800,000 packs, making it the best-selling item in 7-11’s ready-to-eat food category.
Outcome
The enhanced noodles performed exceptionally well in market. Within a year, it achieved a remarkable sales figure of $7 million! We are incredibly proud of this exciting achievement made possible through our joint efforts with the client.
